Trump's tariff defense, backed by Elon Musk's brother Kimbal Musk, has been criticized on social media by JD Vance, causing increased prices for everyday goods.

Elon Musk's younger brother, Kimbal Musk, has criticized Vice President JD Vance on social media for his tariff defense. Musk shared Vance's post, stating that the Trump tariff-tax plan has driven prices for everyday goods up. Trump announced a 90-day pause on some targeted tariffs, but it does not apply to Chinese imports, which will be taxed at 145%. Musk's younger brother, a food entrepreneur, appeared to take an opposing stance to Trump during the stock market turmoil following the "Liberation Day" tariff announcements. Despite the stock market falling when Trump announced reciprocal tariffs on around 60 countries, the 90-day pause on some levies soared stocks.
